For two Pueblo women no strangers to difficult life circumstances, it was a Christmas gift like no other.

With a tradition of delivering the gift of one new smile each Christmas, the professionals at Prestige Dental Centers at Pueblo this year bestowed two deserving women, both clients at Health Solutions, with $35,000 worth of dental work the women said has transformed not only their mouths but their very lives.
A local dentist's office is giving two very deserving women a brand new smile. The procedures cost around $30,000, but today's patients didn't have to pay. One tells us, the work actually saved her life.
During a celebration on Thursday morning they were able to celebrate with family, friends and health professionals. Crespo is a mother of six and a native of Puerto Rico. Louise was married at 15, and stayed in a torturous and abusive relationship for many years. She turned to using drugs to mentally escape. She eventually freed herself from the relationship and her addiction.
Mayor John Suthers quipped as he accepted a plaque from AARP that "all you need to do is look at your mayor and council to see" how fitting the sobriquet. But the serious side of this honor, and duty, is that our city respect and afford fair treatment to its seniors. And I'm proud to see that a number of local businesses have taken the lead in this effort.
